Photo of the Day: Bonnie Lysyk, Greenbelt in the spotlight
As Auditor General Bonnie Lysyk delivered her illuminating Greenbelt report, photographer Arlyn McAdorey got the shot.
For months, many outside the Ontario provincial government had raised questions around premier Doug Ford’s decision to open up parts of the province’s Greenbelt to development. On Wednesday, Auditor General stepped into the spotlight at Queen’s Park to deliver some answers.
For the Canadian Press, reporter Liam Casey summed up her findings like this:
The province’s decision to open up the protected Greenbelt to housing construction favoured “certain developers” with ties to the housing minister, and failed to consider the potential consequences of the move, an investigation by the auditor general has found.
