Here’s where the new Zellers locations will be in the Greater Toronto Area

The wait for the GTA’s Zellers locations is almost over. Opening day is March 23.

It was a department store chain that served Canadians for over eight decades before permanently closing its doors. But now … it’s back.

Off the retail radar since 2013, Zellers is re-launching with a new website and 25 locations across Canada. But there’s a twist — instead of new standalone stores, all locations will be found within existing Hudson’s Bay stores.

The Greater Toronto Area will get three of these new Zellers locations: one each at Scarborough Town Centre, Burlington Mall, and Mississauga’s Erin Mills Town Centre. And you won’t have to wait long to check one out — opening day for all the Ontario and Alberta locations is Thurs., March 23.

Each new Zellers will be 8,000 to 10,000 sq. ft. in size. It’s unclear at the moment what’s next for the revived brand, though a press release confirming the news did hint at further growth, saying “to start!” when referring to the current number of locations.
