Photo of the day: Blue Jays eliminated from playoffs
For the second year in a row Jays deliver a disappointing playoff performance
The Toronto Blue Jays were elminated from the playoffs last night after losing to the Minnesota Twins. The Jays lost both games in their wild-card playoff series.
Toronto only managed to scored a single run in the two games.
Manager John Schneider made the decision to remove starting pitcher Jose Berrios after only 47 pitches in order to put lefty Yusei Kikuchi up againt left-handed Twins batter Max Kepler. It didn't work. Kepler got a base hit.
Schneider said:
You can look at it broadly and say it didn't work out because they scored two runs and we did make a change. You can also look at the fact that it didn't work out and we didn't take advantage of at-bats we had with runners in scoring position.
